HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF BETHANY:

St. Kizito High school Bethany is a girls’ school which was started in 1966 by IHMR sisters in the person of Sr. M. Ludovico and Sr. M. John Omuganzi the very first indigenous  Superior General of IHMR and later on Sr. Margret Nakabuye Nalwoga continued with the work. During that time Archbishop Joseph Kiwanuka was the Ordinary of Kampala and he greatly facilitated the beginning and final set up of this school. The pioneer headmistress is Sr. M. Josephine Nabulime and the first students ever in this school are the twin sisters Babirye Felista and Nakato Jane Francis.

 CURRENT SITUATION:

THE Headmistress of the school is Sr. Maria Salome Nambi deputized by Sr. M. Sylivia Nakabiito assisted. These are are assisted by a staff of 33 members among whom 12 are sisters. The school also has a non-teaching staff of 19 members helping with cooking, security, matrons and livestock keeping.

OBJECTIVES:

  • To have a firm and stable training for students aspiring to join religious life in the Institute of IHMR
  • To train well formed and responsible citizens in the Doctrine of the Catholic faith

LOCATION:

St.Kizito High School is located on Kampala – Mityana road about 45 miles from the capital city of Kampala. One branches off from Zigoti. Then from Zigoti to Kakindu which is the nearest trade center, this is close to 9 miles then from Kakindu to Ngugulo and finally Bethany is about 3 miles from Ngugulo.
