BACKGROUND INFROMATION
St. Anne was founded in 1948 by an indigenous Institute of the sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Reparatrix-Ggogonya with an intention of teaching catechism, reading, arithmetic, Luganda, writing and general hygiene to especially a girl child who during that time had less chances of going to school. As time went on the primary curriculum was changed and more subject were included in the syllabus like social studies, science, mathematics, Religions Education, physical Education, and today Swahili is inclusive as a language of study. As mentioned above, originally the school was started to cater for only girls, but in 1997 with the government programme of implementing Universal Primary Education, boys were included in the school and presently it is a mixed school though the girls are still the majority.
